In a meeting held yesterday (17/7/2000) between the Chairs of Governors and Headteachers of both schools, Parish Council and County Council members, LEA members, Latchen Room Committee members, and architects, the LEA announced that the new school wouldn't be ready in time for next September.
The school will now be opening in the Summer of 2002, due to the fact that the LEA has had problems purchasing land from local landowners. Many parents were annoyed at this announcement. As from September 2001 the new school will operate on a split site using the two schools under one governing body.
