Longhope Cookbooks Update

I thought it would be nice for you to have an update on the two Cookbooks I have compiled to raise money for the village.

The first book "The Longhope Cookbook" continues to sell at The Old Dairy Tearooms and at the Longhope Experience. This Cookbook has so far with your help enabled the Latchen Room Management Committee to purchase the new range cooker, a warming oven with the help of the Luncheon Club and recently a Microwave Combi Oven and Grill. All these purchases have been made possible by your help and support. We also raised £720.00 at the Longhope Feast. These purchases have also benefitted many of the organisations which use the Latchen and made it a very popular place to hire for parties etc.

The second book "All Saints All Sorts" again continues to sell at both the Longhope Experience and at the Old Dairy Tearoom. This book was to raise money towards the enormous amount of work need to maintain our lovely Church. Along with the money raised from the sale of the books we made a staggering £1465 at the Mediaeval Feast. This money will be used to go towards the cost of new lighting within the church. Any money raised from the new cookbook will be used towards the re-ordering and redecoration of the Chancel once the initial work on the roof as been done. There will always be work to be done on the Church and to that end I am compiling another cookbook to raise money for other works to be done in the future. I am sure that any one visiting the church will agree that there are many features within it that need to be restored and saved for future generations. I do hope that you will continue to support the Cookbooks. I couldn't do it without you! The new Cookbook "Just Desserts" will be out in the Spring. We hope it will raise a lot of money within the village and also at the ever popular Longhope Experience.

Thank you to all of you who have been kind enough to buy or sell the Cookbooks and of course to Dave Thorp and Dave McShee for their excellent design and printing.
