This whitewashed pub is still trading and today is a popular music venue. In 1891 and 1903 it had an annual
rateable of just £8.0s.0d. but only had a license to sell beer and wines on the premises. It closed at 10 p.m.

| The Plough was demolished to make way for road improvements (A4136) in the
1970's. It had an annual rateable value of £17.0s.0d. in 1891 and 1903. Albert John Brain was a long serving
tenant at the Plough who first served Wintle's beers there in 1907 and retired in the early 1960's when
the pub was a West Country house.
