Advance Warning of the Fête

It’s that time of year again! The Longhope Fête is happening this Saturday (6th) and kicks off at 2pm. The usual procession starts at 1.30pm from The Latchen. The Carnival Prince will be Nathan Townsend alongside the Carnival Princess, Phoebe Essex. Our very loveable "Postie" and Councillor Dave East is set to put on his best bib and tucker to open the Fête and judge the procession entries.

Among the attractions this year will be The Cinderford Area Neighbourhood Development Initiative (CANDI), the Wye Dance Zumba, music from a jazz-funk band, "Sunday Sessions" as well as pony rides and all the other usual attractions.

The saying about “it never rains on Longhope Fête” is very likely to hold true this year, with a scorching hot, sunny day promised with temperatures around 22⁰C. Probably making up for last year when, for the first time in its history, the Fête was postponed due to the bad weather of the summer, and a waterlogged Rec. The beer tent and tea hut should do well then?
