Another Longhope Cook Book

For years now the roof of All Saints Church has been repaired whenever necessary but we are told by our Architects that it is no longer sufficient to do this on a peacemeal basis. Time and weather have caught up with us and we must now retile completely and do various renovations to the timbers and stonework. This will cost the best part of £200,000.00. Of course applications will be made to any grant giving bodies we can find but the fact remains that help from all of us living in the Parish is urgently needed to raise funds as we need to be seen to raising money ourselves.

Vicky Harper has very generously offered to put together a second cookbook to be called "All Saints' All Sorts" to include jams, perserves, pickles, chutneys, sauces and marinades and to be (with Dave Thorps' help) a companion volume to the first book which has so far raised £2000 for The Latchen Rooms. Please would you contribute recipes for this project e.g. Grandma's recipe for Runner Bean & Courgette Chutney? Vicky will receive them gratefully and will, of course, expect you to buy a copy of the book eventually!

Nick Richardson and Rosemary Mayer-Jones, Churchwardens.

Recipes can be left at the Post Office (thanks to Gill and Richard), the Church, via the Feedback page or straight to Vicky.

There will be an open meeting in Church on Thursday September 18th at 7.30 p.m. for all those interested in this appeal and the future of our Church.

On a more personal note Vicky has said that as before we would be grateful for any sponsorship towards the cost of designing and printing of the cookbook. We already have a very generous sponsor but would be grateful for any more help. All sponsors will be acknowledged in the cookbook. Please contact Vicky if you feel able to help.
